Response to Catonsville Times Editorial II
Regarding Gary Koloski’s letter of 7/14/10, where he states that “Steve Whisler is the only candidate for county council who want to use Spring Grove responsibly”, exclusive words such as “only” are seldom accurate. In fact, Mr. Koloski’s letter is full of inaccuracies. The plans he attributes to Steve Whisler for the Spring Grove property, such as recreational use, police station and district court house, and UMBC growth are the very same views long stated by Greg Morgan, which is why I chose to work on Greg’s campaign. During the course of this campaign, other candidates have adopted some of these ideas. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Greg’s depth of understanding the issues that concern us comes from his many years of proven leadership with organizations such as PTSA, the Catonsville Chamber of Commerce and the Catonsville July Fourth Celebration Committee just to name a few. Over the years, Greg has received recognition for his leadership ability from the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce, he has received the County Executive Citation as well as a County Council Resolution.
Just recently Greg received the endorsement of the Baltimore County Professional Fire Fighters Association, IAFF 1311. The fine professionals of IAFF 1311 recognize Greg’s past contributions as well as his commitment to the future of District One.
As a 23 year veteran of the Construction Industry and a small business owner, Greg has received industry recognition for his marketing and sales achievements in business.
Many small business owners in Catonsville support Greg and many of us enjoy and hope to preserve a quality of life that once lost cannot be regained. Greg’s focus is on community participation in a process of revitalization of existing structures and use of existing infrastructure rather than destroying yet more open space and creating yet more blight and the problems associated with it.
We desperately need Greg Morgan as our county council representative and Joe Bartenfelder as county executive to work together for the good of our community, and specifically to bring the issue of the Promenade back to the community in a charette process.
